Take samples of at least your floor and cabinet colours so you can match the stone properly. Lighting can change the tone and hue of a slab significantly.
Suppliers can often provide samples of the colours you're interested in, though not always.
Suppliers may offer to put slabs on hold for you. Holds only last several days, and if you no longer want a slab, please cancel the hold so the supplier can offer that material to other clients.
Not every flaw in marble or granite is visible at first glance. Run your hand across the slab to feel for cracks or fissures, and look across the surface from a low angle, with your face close to it, to spot pitting or other defects.
Suppliers won't share exact prices, but they can tell you which stones are more or less expensive than others. That helps you decide which colours to consider.
We strongly encourage picking at least a few colours for each item (counter, fireplace cladding, etc.). We'll price each one separately, and since they fall into different price categories, this gives you more flexibility to meet your budget.
Once you've chosen your colours, email us a list of them with their block numbers, organized by supplier. Please attach a layout of what needs to be priced, along with any other relevant information. We usually reply with pricing within 48 hours.
Email your selections and layout, or give us a call.
